Update drivers with the largest database available. Again, it prints just fine via the Surface Pro 3.Īny ideas? Sorry if an answer has been posted. Get the latest official Hewlett Packard (HP) LaserJet 1018 printer drivers for Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, XP PCs. I've tried changing some driver setting to WinPrint and input to RAW I forget that step, exactly, but it was suggested somewhere.ĭrivers come via Windows Update, and it's auto-detected without issue. I've tried the HP Print and Scan Doctor program, which failed with both setups it says the printer is connected but fails to print the test doc. I've also tried connecting this printer by USB to a router and then detecting it as a wireless printer - which also "worked" insofar as allowing it to queue docs but not actually print them. At this point, the document will get into the print queue but it just sits there for 5 minutes until it changes to "Error-printing." Windows Update has detected the printer and I can tell it to print documents. My current setup is the HP printer directly connected via USB. Googling for printer support gives you 10,000 forum board posts where HP and Microsoft fail to solve the problem, so I figured I'd try here.

This old printer works great on my Surface Pro 3 (Win 10, not sure if 32 or 64 bit) and older systems but I'm having trouble getting it to print on a Win 10 Home edition 64bit system.
